Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

by Mo Willems

Read November 17th 2008

My kids liked this book more than I did.  It's very silly and kind of interactive.  The pigeon keeps trying to ask 'you' to drive the bus, but the bus driver gave instructions: "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" while he has to leave for a bit.

The pigeon is very creative in his attempts to get you to let him drive the bus.  My daughter answered him, "No!" after each time he tries.

There are several follow-ups to this story including Pigeon Wants a Puppy, which I have sitting in the pile to read and a few others.

This book won Caldecott Honor in 2004.
