This is a very preschool book, but my daughter enjoyed it.  There isn't really a story.  You flip the pages and the shapes make different animals.

 

The children get to see the shapes that made up the animals on the next page.

 

To me, not exactly Caldecott material, but I am not part of the committee that chooses. :)
